Oracle releases VM VirtualBox update
Oracle has announced the availability of version 3.2.8 of its open source VM VirtualBox desktop virtualisation application for x86 hardware. The latest maintenance update includes several bug fixes and a number of changes over the previous 3.2.6 release from late June, including various stability improvements.
VM VirtualBox 3.2.8 now allows users to attach a single disk to several VMs without additional external tools and features shared folder enhancements for Solaris guests and support for remote installations in the Solaris Installer. Other changes include BusLogic updates for Windows NT / 2000 and SCO OpenServer guests, RDP video redirection performance improvements, fixes for 3D support and several USB related changes, such as addressing a crash with older Linux kernels. The developers advise all users to upgrade.
More details about the release can be found in the release announcement and change log. VM VirtualBox 3.2.8 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris. VirtualBox source code is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public Licence (GPLv2) while VirtualBox binaries are released under the VirtualBox Personal Use and Evaluation Licence (PUEL).
