Opsera has announced the release of Opsview Community version 3.9.0 which includes a number of new features, many enhancements and around 40 bug fixes.

Opsview is an integrated and commercially-supported open source IT infrastructure monitoring product that is relatively easy to deploy, with a single console for managing and monitoring distributed systems. Opsera recently sold its Enterprise Services division to Ixxus in order to concentrate its resources solely on Opsview. Opsview is available as either the FOSS community version or for subscription as an enterprise version with various levels of support.

New features in the Community version 3.9.0 include a new configuration API that provides a REST interface, a new performance viewport with sparkline graphs, dynamic updates for viewport style, a CSV export option for graphs and Amazon Elastic Cloud and Slicehost Server monitoring. The over thirty enhancements include an updated Italian translation file, updated Nagios plug-ins, an updated import_excel tool, an added UDP port configuration option to SNMP plug-ins and an added index to improve query for viewport summary pages.

Binaries of Opsview Community 3.9.0 and installation instructions for RHEL5 and CentOS5 (AMD64 and i386) Debian and Ubuntu (AMD64 and i386) and Solaris 10 (AMD64, i386 and Sparc 64) are available to download from the various Opsera repositories. An updated VMWare Player image and source code tar files from the Opsview SourceForge project pages, are also available. Opsview Community is released under the terms of the GPLv2.
