Opsera, maker of the open source Opsview network monitoring platform, has announced that its Enterprise Services division is to be acquired by Ixxus for an undisclosed sum. Opsera retains the Nagios-based Opsview as it's sole software product.

Tom Callway, Opsera's marketing manager told The H, "The deal is great for Opsview, the move allows Opsera to focus on Opsview with more cash and more resources". He noted that previously, since Opsera acquired Opsview, " we've had to split our time between meeting the needs of our consulting clients and resourcing Opsview development" but that the sale of Enterprise Services would ease that problem. Opsera will continue to develop Opsview, in both it's GPL2 licensed community edition and Enterprise edition, and offer consultancy and deployment expertise to clients. Callway says Opsview has new offerings in the pipeline for the products, especially around cloud support and is looking for new ways to provide services to Opsview clients.

The Enterprise Services division offers general infrastructure consultancy, Alfresco integration and developed OpsMailManager, an email management application for Alfresco's ECM; these services and products will continue to be delivered by Ixxus as part of their consultancy and integration services.
