OpenStack is progressing
In a blog post, Mark Collier, Vice President at OpenStack founder Rackspace, has given an update of the project's efforts to develop a free cloud software solution. Started just four weeks ago, the project now supports the KVM, XenServer and VirtualBox virtualisation technologies.
Collier says that the project has attracted a lively community which now comprises more than 30 companies and organisers including such heavy-weights as AMD, Citrix, Dell, Intel, Rackspace and NASA. Apparently, more than 100 developers have populated the OpenStack IRC channel each day, and 1,250 code commits have so far been submitted to the project.
