OpenShot Linux video editor updated

The OpenShot developers have released version 0.9.54 of their open source video editor for Linux. In addition to the usual bug fixes and updates, the latest release also includes several improvements and new features. As is perhaps indicated by the version number, the developers are still working towards a final 1.0 release and consider this a 'development' release.

OpenShot 0.9.54 now features improvements to the snapping tool to snap a dragged video clip to the 'play-head' – a red line that designates the start of the part of a video a user is previewing, an auto-extending time-line for clips larger than 10 minutes and improved zooming that adjusts the scrollbars to keep the clips in view. Other updates include fixes to the end of the time-line ruler, play-head tracking and updates to all of the included default language translations.

More details about the release can be found in the release announcement. OpenShot 0.9.54 is available to download as a .DEB installer for Ubuntu 8.04 or higher, or as a PPA file for Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10. OpenShot is released under version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv3).
