OpenOffice 3.2 RC1 arrives

OpenOffice Logo The OpenOffice developers have announced the first release candidate (RC1) for what will become version 3.2 of their free open source office suite. In addition to the standard bug fixes, the latest development release includes several performance improvements and new features.

Notable changes in OpenOffice 3.2 include updates to all of the included components, faster startup times and improved support for other office document types, such as Microsoft Office documents. The developers note that the release is only intended for testing and not for production use. Users are encouraged to report any bugs, issues or errors that they experience.

OpenOffice 3.2 RC1 is available to download for Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris and Linux. The latest stable release of OpenOffice is version 3.1.1. OpenOffice is released under version 3 of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPLv3).
