OpenOffice 3.1 RC2 released

The OpenOffice developers have announced the availability of the second release candidate (RC2) of version 3.1 of their free open source office suite. OpenOffice 3.1 RC2 addresses several major bugs, that were found in the first release candidate. Originally, the second release candidate was expected to appear in the week after Easter. The final release, previously scheduled for the 26th of April, has now been moved to the 7th of May.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes. OpenOffice 3.1 RC2 is available to download and is intended for testing, not for production use. Users are encouraged to report any bugs, issues or errors that they experience so that they are addressed before the final release. A full list of features in the upcoming 3.1 final release can be found here.
