C12G, the company driving the development of the OpenNebula cloud computing toolkit, has announced the release of OpenNebulaApps, an open source application management suite for the cloud platform. OpenNebulaApps allows administrators to easily install and manage applications on OpenNebula, either from the command line or from a graphical web interface.

OpenNebulaApps includes tools to automatically install and configure applications, transparently handle the execution of those applications across several virtual machines, and enable administrators to build a centralised, private catalogue of these applications across their different OpenNebula instances. OpenNebula applications consist of stacks of software components and the new tool makes it significantly easier for users to build, install and manage these applications, especially if the same application is to be installed across several OpenNebula instances.

The new tools integrate with the OpenNebula Sunstone web interface and also provide a command line interface that enables administrators to quickly perform common tasks. OpenNebulaApps is also compatible with the platform's Zones feature which allows the management of several OpenNebula instances from a single location.

More information about OpenNebulaApps is available in the documentation section of the OpenNebula support portal. OpenNebulaApps is licensed under the Apache 2.0 License and can be downloaded from the OpenNebula project's web site; installation instructions are also available.
