OpenLogic Logo Colorado-based open source governance specialist OpenLogic has announced the addition of new collaborative compliance functionality for OpenLogic Exchange (OLEX), the company's software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for provisioning, governance, scanning and compliance. According to OpenLogic, the new collaborative compliance solution "provides ways to track activities and share information among developers, legal and business staff within the enterprise"; enterprises can also collaborate with supply chain partners on compliance activities.

New collaboration features in OLEX include Audit Notes that allow stakeholders to share comments and notes in real-time and Audit History functionality that provides a detailed history of each action taken during the compliance process including who did it and when it was done. Enterprises can create custom Collaborative Workflows for approving internal uses of open source or incoming code from vendors, and, with the Usage Worksheet, legal staff and developers can work together to determine which open source licence obligations apply. Compliance Reports are available through the software's web-based interface and can also be exported to a spreadsheet for sharing.

In the announcement press release, OpenLogic Senior VP Kim Weins says that, "With this new version of OLEX, many different participants can efficiently work together to determine what open source is present, what licenses are relevant, and what compliance actions are required."
