ESB logo Sun has released version 2.1 of OpenESB, the free Enterprise Service Bus for Sun's Glassfish application server. The ESB can be used as a platform for Business Integration (BI), enterprise application integration (EAI) and to create service-oriented architecture (SOA). OpenESB is standard based and supports many interoperability features.

With the new version it should be easier to install Glassfish/ESB on a large scale, with clustering for all components now fully supported. Other new features include a scheduler binding component, based on the Quartz package and a Service Engine for Complex Event Processing (CEP). The developers have also fixed numerous bugs and made other changes which are detailed in the release notes.

OpenESB is available under the Common Development and Distribution Licence (CDDL). Glassfish ESB is provided with the Glassfish application server and the NetBeans IDE as a single installable bundle.
