Microsoft has released a beta version of an open source SDK for Windows Phone that enables access to Amazon Web Services (AWS), including Amazon S3, SimpleDB and SQS cloud services. The announcement quotes Microsoft's Jean Paoli as saying: "It literally takes minutes to create a Cloud-ready application in C# with this SDK."

The SDK is intended to make it easy for developers who have been working with apps on Android, iOS or other systems to port their applications to Windows Phone. The SDK provides them with a way to quickly connect Windows Phone apps with AWS. The SDK and its source code are available to download from GitHub under the terms of the Apache licence 2.0. An installation guide is provided, along with an MSI installation fileDirect download.
