Open World Forum's dragons den for start-ups
The Open World Forum has announced a competition for open source start-ups to pitch their ideas to a panel of venture capitalists and systems integrators. The competition, part of the Open Innovation Summit, is inviting open source start-ups to make a seven minute pitch on October 2nd at the Paris event. The competitors will also be nominated for the "Open Innovation Awards" which will be awarded to the most promising business in open source and presented at the closing keynote.
Unlike the Dragons Den, the venture capitalists and systems integrators are not offering money, let alone their personal fortunes, but the organisers of the event hope that the visibility from the awards will be reward enough for the entrants. The deadline for entries is September 8th and details on how to enter are on the Open Innovation Summit site.
