Open Recall logo Open Recall is a new space on The H for those things which are too small to package as news but are worth the linkage. Open Recall collates the interesting stories which didn't quite make the cut.

  • Cool Code – Wondering what's going on on GitHub right now? With GitHub Live you can now sit back and watch the code pushes as they happen, categorised by language. Click on the avatars and the details of what was actually committed appear. Read more about the entry to the GitHub Data Challenge on the blog of Rob Ashton, co-author of GitHub Live.

  • Worth checking – Apache OpenMeetings is a lesser known project currently residing in the Apache Incubator. It offers video conferencing, instant messaging, whiteboards, collaborative document editing and more. The project moved from Google Code to Apache at the start of this year.

  • New email arrivals – Geary 0.1 is the first release of the lightweight email reader for the GNOME desktop. It's been in development for a year and is still maturing. Geary is being developed by Yorba, the non-profit software group probably best known for Shotwell.

  • Open Source Hardware – Launched last month, and announced on the Arduino.cc blog, the Open Source Hardware Association (OSHWA) has been created to pull together the various community initiatives that have sprung up in the open source hardware world.
