Open Recall logo Open Recall is a new space on The H for those things which are too small to package as news but are worth the linkage. Open Recall collates the interesting stories which didn't quite make the cut.

  • Liberated Pixel Cup gets another supporter – Mozilla has announced that it has signed up to sponsor the Liberated Pixel Cup, a two-part competition to create dual-licensed (CC BY-SA 3.0 and GPLv3) artwork and games incorporating the artwork, which will be licensed under the GPLv3 or later. In addition to donating funds, the organisation behind the Firefox web browser says that it will host various events in its spaces around the world and support the HTML5 category of the competition. Other sponsors include Creative Commons, OpenGameArt and the Free Software Foundation.

  • 0 A.D. Alpha 10 Jhelum – A new alpha of the open source 0 A.D. real-time strategy (RTS) game has been released by Wildfire Games for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. 0 A.D. Alpha 10, code-named "Jhelum", includes three new Hellenic Factions – Athenians, Macedonians and Spartans – as well as rendering improvements, support for healing units, and click-and-drag wall building functionality. Nine new maps have been also added. A video of the new features in action is available on YouTube.

  • Raspberry Pi camera module previewed – The Raspberry Pi Foundation has shown off a new prototype camera module for its small Linux-powered computer. The camera add-on board, which is still in development, connects to the Raspberry Pi via the CSI pins in the middle of the device. It currently has a 14 megapixel censor but that may be downgraded before its expected release "later this year"; pricing has yet to be announced.
