Novell opens SUSE Gallery
To celebrate the first birthday of the SUSE Appliance Program, Novell has released the SUSE Gallery, which was first introduced in June. The SUSE Gallery allows registered SUSE Studio users to release and publish their appliances and cloud-based applications to the web. It lists all appliances that have been released, and its search feature is a quick way for users to find existing appliances, such as mail servers, rather than build their own
Novell is pleased about the results achieved in first year of the SUSE Appliance Program, which includes SUSE Studio and reports that more than 82,000 registered users and almost 3 million downloads have been recorded. To celebrate the release and the first birthday of its SUSE Appliance Program, Novell has launched the first annual "Dister" Awards – Dister is the mascot for SUSE Studio. Users have until the 30th September to submit innovative appliances in either the "Community Use" or "Commercial Use" category. The category winners can each look forward to receiving a $10,000 grand prize.
