Novell and Citrix have announced a new collaboration deal aimed at increasing virtualisation interoperability. With the new partnership, Novell has certified its SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) as a “Perfect Guest” running on Citrix XenServer. According to Novell, under the deal, more than 4,500 enterprise applications certified as Novell Ready for SLES will now be considered to be Citrix Ready community-verified when running in a SLES guest virtual machine (VM) on XenServer.

Both companies will provide technical and customer support for SLES on XenServer. Additionally, Citrix will participate in Novell's PlateSpin Recon assessment program. PlateSpin is a virtual capacity management and consolidation planning tool.
