At the JBossWorld conference, Red Hat presented a new JBoss Certified Developer program (JBCD). The certificate is designed to demonstrate special expertise and experience in the use of JBoss-specific technologies and development standards. A central part of the tests is practical exercises, which have to be passed. In the tests, candidates have to create program code within a certain time frame and change it in accordance with new specifications.

Red Hat now offers the JBoss Certified Developer in Persistence (JBCD-Persistence) as the first such certificate. Holders of the certificate will have demonstrated practical experience in the use of the Java Persistence API (JPA) with Java's Hibernate persistence technology, promoted by Red Hat.
