New Carbon CMS - based on Drupal, with commercial support
The first commercially supported version of the open source content management system Drupal, codenamed Carbon, is planned for release in the second half of 2008 by Acquia, a startup firm founded by Drupal's creator Dries Buyaert.
The product, which includes paid-for support and maintenance services, will be based on the recently released Drupal 6.0. The source code will, however, still be licensed under GPLv2. A new service called Spokes will inform Carbon users about updates and security patches.
