According to a report by the 451 Group, Marten Mickos will be leaving Sun. The 451 Group is a market research and analysis group focusing on the business of enterprise IT innovation, including open source. In the 451 Group post, Matthew Aslett says that Mickos "is to depart Sun amid a reorganisation of its infrastructure and database business units."

Mickos was the CEO in charge of the database group at MySQL before it was acquired by Sun and then became the Senior Vice President of the database group at Sun. The 451 Group reports that Mickos will leave the company at the end of the current quarter. The news comes after the departure of both David Axmark, co-founder of MySQL, and Michael "Monty" Widenius, founder of MySQL, from Sun.

An official statement has not yet been made by Sun, but the 451 Group say the news has been confirmed.
