Weave logo Mozilla Labs have released version 0.5 of Weave, its bookmarks and passwords synchronisation system. Weave Sync allows users to register with the Weave service and have their browsing history, auto fill forms, bookmarks, passwords, preferences and tabs stored (in an encrypted form) and synchronised on the Mozilla Weave servers.

Version 0.5 offers improvements in the performance of uploads and downloads and, to reduce disruption to user sessions, the extension now waits until the user isn't actively browsing before initiating a synchronisation session. Changing passwords and pass-phrases is now supported, as is Mozilla Fennec on Windows Mobile and Firefox on OpenSolaris x86.

Weave requires Firefox 3.5 or later and is licensed under the Mozilla Public Licence 1.1 the GPL 2.0 and the LGPL 2.1. It is available to install from the project's home page.
