Mozilla Labs launches TestSwarm
Mozilla Labs has launched a new project called TestSwarm, which is aimed at providing distributed continuous integration testing for JavaScript. According to a blog post by former JavaScript Evangelist John Resig, the creator of TestSwarm, the project was initially created to support the jQuery project, but has since moved and become an offical Mozilla Labs project.
The project's primary goal is to simplify the process of running JavaScript test suites in multiple browsers by providing the necessary tools for creating a continuous integration work flow for a JavaScript project. TestSwarm's main page shows the different browsers that TestSwarm and the frameworks that use it are looking for. The red numbers on the browser logos indicate how many specific clients are actually connected and waiting to run tests.
TestSwarm has yet to be added to Mozilla's projects page and is currently considered to be at an alpha stage of development. More details about TestSwarm can be found in the projects wiki and in a detailed screencast video from Resig himself.
