The Participatory Culture Foundation has made Version 1.2 of Miro - the integrated client for internet TV, video, RSS and BitTorrent - available for download. The open source program enables users to access, connect via RSS and auto-download around 4,000 free internet TV channels.

The runtime environment of the Windows and Linux versions has been updated to Mozilla's XULRunner 1.9. Despite increased performance, Version 1.2 is less memory-hungry than the previous version.

The Miro Guide, the electronic programme guide which simplifies navigation through the internet TV channels, now has improved support for Flash animation. There is also an option to disable auto-download for new channels. Miro 1.2 for Windows, Mac OS and Linux is available for download now.
