The MeeGo project has updated its roadmap. The project will now release Meego 1.2 in April 2011 and plans to release MeeGo 1.3 in October, moving to a biannual release schedule. The six-monthly release schedule has been a target for the MeeGo developers as they establish their open development and release process.

The roadmap page contains links to pages listing which features are completed or open for version 1.2's MeeGo Core and the "User Experiences" (UX) offerings of Connected TV, Handset, IVI and Netbook editions. The links are somewhat obscure though, found in the second half of the post under the "X" on the tables for the different versions of MeeGo. They actually link to Bugzilla queries which enumerate which tasks have been completed and which are still pending. Further details of the MeeGo 1.2 plans are on MeeGo wiki roadmap page; this also includes links to the roadmaps for each UX, the SDK roadmap, the Qt roadmap and development process roadmaps.

MeeGo is a Linux-based distribution for various mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, that is the result of the February 2010 decision to merge Intel's Moblin platform and Nokia's Maemo platform under the aegis of the Linux Foundation.
