Mandriva has announced that it has postponed the decision about the company's financial future yet again. The company's COO, Jean-Manuel Croset, has offered little explanation, saying only that the deadline for the decision was "extended by the proposing entity upon request of some shareholders". The decision is now scheduled to be made on Friday 27 January.

The once popular Linux distribution has lately been marred by financial difficulties after it failed to gain an additional funding round late last year; that attempt was vetoed by 42% shareholder LinLux. It is currently evaluating an acquisition offer by an unnamed party. This delay marks the second time that the decision to either go into bankruptcy or accept the acquisition offer has been postponed.
