Mac Last.fm client SweetFM goes open source
Chocomoko founder Erik Aigner has announced that SweetFM for Mac has gone open source. SweetFM is a desktop Last.fm music streaming client that features several Mac specific functions, including support for the Apple Remote and Apple Keyboard media keys. Users playing a song or album can purchase it, with a single click from within the application, from the iTunes music store. SweetFM also integrates with iTunes to allow for Last.fm song and play list playback from a users customised list. Previously the Last.fm client cost $29 for a license key to use the application. Aigner is now looking for developers that are interested in becoming a maintainer for the project.
More details about SweetFM can be found on the apps homepage. SweetFM is available to download for Mac OS X 10.5 from Google Code and is released under the MIT License.
