Logback reaches 1.0.0
The Logback project has announced that its Java logging system that picks up where log4j left off has reached version 1.0.0. There are no big changes from previous releases of Logback, according to lead developer Ceki Gülcü.
Intended as the successor to log4j, another Gülcü project, Logback has been in development since 2006 and has developed into a three-module solution; logback-core as a foundation, logback-classic, which natively implements the Simple Logging Facade for Java (SLF4J), and logback-access, which integrates with Servelet containers to provide HTTP accessible logs. A sister project, logback-audit, is designed for processing business significant logging events.
Logback is dual-licensed under the Eclipse Public Licence 1.0 and the LGPL v2.1. It is available via Maven or as a download from the qos.ch website, along with a range of tools and extensions. A detailed manual and other documentation is available.
