The Linux Foundation has announced the conference schedule for LinuxCon 2009. LinuxCon, originally announced in October of last year, will take place in Portland, Oregon from the 21st to the 23rd of September. Modelled after the Linux Plumbers Conference, the event will be held annually and is aimed at Linux developers and users, as well as hardware and software suppliers.

Confirmed keynote speakers include openSUSE Community Manager Joe Brockmeier, Chief Technologist for Open Source and Linux at HP Bdale Garbee, Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth and Vice President of Open Source and Linux for IBM Bob Sutor. The Keynote Panel will feature Linux creator Linus Torvalds participating in a round table discussion on the Linux Kernel and the future of Linux.

The event will include several business, developer and operations presentations, including presentations on enterprise open source, embedded Linux, the economic downturn and green Linux. Tutorials, such as Kernel development, networking and security, will also be taking place.

More schedule and speaker details can be found on the LinuxCon 2009 Speakers page. Registration is now open and an early bird discount will be available until the 1st of June.
