The Linux.com site has now been revamped and relaunched as a community driven site after the Linux Foundation took over the operation in March. The new Linux.com features content sourced from the community and includes blogs, application and distribution news, tutorials, documentation, white papers and a directory of Linux related resources. The ability to promote local events, projects and meetings has also been incorporated. The aim of Linux.com is to provide a community space for Linux users.

Users who participate more can rise up in the site's "Guru Rankings" and the Foundation has said that the top five gurus will get invited to the Linux Collaboration Summit and act as community representatives at Linux.com's planning meetings. The new site uses the Joomla open source content management system and a wide range of extensions from the Joomla community.
