Linux Foundation gains seven new European members

Linux Foundation The Linux Foundation has announced that it has added seven new members: Codethink, UK-based KeyPoint Technologies, Lanedo, Germany-based developer Meinberg Funkuhren, Picochip, Puzzle ITC and RPA RusBITech. "We are inspired by the support and collaboration from companies throughout the world", said Amanda McPherson, Linux Foundation VP of Marketing and Developer Programs, adding that, "Europe remains fertile ground where new technologies can grow through collaboration."

All the new member companies will come together to collaborate with existing members at the first-ever LinuxCon Europe conference, which will take place later this month from 26 to 28 October in Prague, Czech Republic. Confirmed keynote speakers for the event include Red Hat VP of Linux Engineering Development Tim Burke, Oracle's Linux and Virtualisation Entineering Senior VP Wim Coekaerts, and Intel Chief Linux and Open Source Technologist Dirk Hohndel, as well as Linux Foundation Exectuive Director Jim Zemlin and Linux creator Linus Torvalds.

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the task of promoting the growth of Linux. A full list of members can be found on the Linux Foundation web site.
