Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit videos now available

The Linux Foundation has now made videos from the recent Collaboration Summit available to view. The videos include the keynote speaker's presentations and panels on the Linux Kernel and on open source in the cloud. The keynote presentations range from Ari Jaaksi of Nokia discussing MeeGo and IBM's Daniel Frye looking at ten years of Linux at IBM to Chris DiBona, Google's Open Source Programme Manager, talking about Google's approach to open source and free software and the Foundation's own Jim Zemlin giving the State of the Linux Union address.

One of the panels, composed of of Jon Corbet, LWN.net editor, James Bottomley of Novell, kernel developer Christoph Hellwig, maintainer of stable Linux, Greg Kroah-Hartman, and Ext3 co-maintainer Andrew Morton, discussed "What's Next" for the Linux Kernel. Some of the panel expressed concern over what they perceived as a lack of "new blood" among kernel developers.

The videos can be viewed on the Foundation's site in a Flash based player or can be downloaded in Ogg Theora format.
