Linux 2.6.34 development marches on
Only 12 days after the release of Linux 2.6.33, the merge window for version 2.6.34 of Linux has now been closed and Linus Torvalds has announced the first preview release of the upcoming 2.6.34 Linux kernel. The preview release contains a number of changes to the graphics related code, including new graphics drivers for Radeon 5000 series GPUs, changes to the Nouveau driver for NVIDIA graphics hardware, support for switching between graphics chip-sets and support for external graphics hardware on some laptops.
An upcoming Kernel Log will take a look at these and other advances in the next version of the Linux kernel.
