Linux 2.6.29.1 fixes errors in the network subsystem

It contains nearly 50 fixes and minor enhancements for the ten day old Linux 2.6.29 which saw Tuz the Tasmanian devil stand in temporarily as mascot. In the release mail, kernel hacker Chris Wright specifically points to fixes in the network subsystem which some users of 2.6.29 had problems with.

The kernel developers are working hard on 2.6.30 and have already added 7400 patches to the main development branch. The developers still had time for extensive discussions; the squabbling around Ext3 and Ext4, previously reported on The H, continues. The still active thread on the Linux Kernel Mailing List (LKML) contains over 600 mails. The Linux Weather Forecast points to a currently subscriber only article on LWN.net which examines and summarises the main points in the different strands of the discussion.
