Limbas Logo German database specialist Limbas GmbH has released version 2.1 of its open source database management system. Based on PHP, Limbas allows users to easily create database-driven, web-based applications and enterprise solutions ranging from systems for content management, customer relationship management (CRM), ticketing or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Aimed at replacing Access, the latest version of the database framework is a maintenance update that addresses a number of bugs found in the previous release and includes several extension updates. Limbas includes support for PostgreSQL and MaxDB, and has a number of basic features, such as table management, forms and report generation.

More information about the update can be found in the release announcement. Limbas 2.1 is available to download from SourceForge. Open Limbas is licensed under the GPL version 2 and a German language screencast video is provided on the company's site.
