Limbas logo The Limbas application, which allows users to create simple database applications for the web, has been updated to version 2.3. This latest version supports MSSQL, in addition to its existing support for PostgreSQL, MaxDB and Ingres databases. Database sequences are supported, replacing the older version's use of "select max". Field types can now specify particular lengths or precisions rather than accepting defaults and several new functions have been added to the query editor. Other new features are listed in the release announcementGerman language link.

Written in PHP, Limbas is an open source framework for creating database-backed business applications. Its range of features includes simple spreadsheets, form and report generators and workflow functionality – the developers liken the application to Access. Limbas is available to download from the project's site on SourceForge under the terms of the GPLv2.
