LibreOffice logo The Document Foundation is getting ready for a 2013 LibreOffice Conference and the first step in that process is to find a venue to hold it in. The non-profit organisations has just issued a Call for Locations for next year's LibreOffice Conference seeking proposals from the community for a city and venue for its 2013 global event.

Florian Effenberger, Chairman of the Board at The Document Foundation, notes that the conference "traditionally" takes place between September and November, although dates in October are preferred. The deadline for submissions is Monday 15 October, after which venues will be evaluated and put to a vote by the LibreOffice community in either November or December of this year. Further information, including submission requirements and the details about the evaluation process, can be found on the Call for Locations wiki page.

The organisation of talks for this year's upcoming LibreOffice Conference, taking place from 17 to 19 October in Berlin, Germany, is still ongoing though. While the Call for Papers deadline for the 2012 community event was originally 15 August, it has since been extended to 22 August for those interested in submitting proposals for talks and workshops to apply. More details can be found on the conference's Call for Papers page.
