LibreOffice logo The Document Foundation has announced that the LibreOffice Conference for 2012 will be held in Berlin. Following a call for locations at the beginning of January, the choice had been between Berlin, Germany and Zaragoza, Spain. A poll to select the location was opened at the end of January and closed a week ago. Of the 88 valid ballots, 52 were cast for Berlin.

The Berlin proposalPDF sees the conference being organised by Freies Office Deutschland (FrODeVGerman language link) who will be coordinating the main venue, finance and sponsor search. FrODeV was formerly known as OpenOffice.org Deutschland. The event will be held at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, but no specific date has been given for the conference beyond it being in the autumn.
