LibreOffice logo The LibreOffice developers from The Document Foundation have announced the release of LibreOffice 3.6.5, the last planned release in the 3.x family of releases of the open source office suite. LibreOffice 4.0 is currently in development and is expected for the beginning of February. The LibreOffice developers and community will be gathering at the FOSDEM conference in Brussels over the weekend and the project is also running a devroom at the conference.

LibreOffice 3.6.5 includes a number of bug fixes, including some that stop crashes, others that make LibreOffice work in a more standard fashion and some which correct errors in how the application behaves. A full list is available in the change log for LibreOffice 3.6.5 RC2 (which became the final release) on The Document Foundation's wiki. The latest release of the open source office suite can be downloaded from the project's web site and is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
