Krita logo The developers at KO GmbH have announced the availability of Krita Sketch 1.0 for Windows, a version of the Krita digital painting application. The difference in Krita Sketch is that the user interface has been completely reworked to make it touch-centric. With that in mind, Krita Sketch supports "nearly all the functionality" of the desktop version of Krita, omitting the Wacom tablet support though. Krita Sketch also has an OpenGL-enabled canvas for better performance, support for pinch zooming, and an updated colour theme.

Krita Sketch 1.0 for Windows runs on Windows 7 and 8 and is available to download as an MSI installer from KO GmbH's download page. Development of Krita Sketch has been supported by Intel and has involved Arjen Hiemstra, Dan Jensen and Boudewijn Rempt of the Calligra project. The GPLv2-licensed source code is available from the KDE Project's repository.
