KTorrent Logo Version 4.1 of the KTorrent BitTorrent client for the KDE desktop is now available to download, a major release that adds several new features. The user interface has been redesigned to make better use of KDE's KParts technologies and support for super-seeding has been added.

Super-seeding works to minimise the amount of data that needs to be uploaded by the original seed until the first completion of a downloading peer – it is primarily intended to be used when there is only a single seed. Other changes include support for KIO magnet and video streaming, which enables users to start watching a movie while it's still downloading. A number of bugs found in the previous version have also been fixed.

Further details about the major release can be found in the official release announcement and in the change log. KTorrent 4.1 is available to download from the project's site.
