KMyMoney 4.5 for KDE Platform 4 released

After more than 15 months of development, the KMyMoney team has released the first stable version of their personal finance manager built on KDE Platform 4. KMyMoney 4.5, which aims to be the best, free personal finance manager, is now based on KDE 4 and competes with such similar finance applications as GnuCash, a cross-platform personal and small-business financial-accounting program.

KMyMoney's schedule view. According to the developers, the latest version of KMyMoney has "gone through an intensive testing process" and the overall usability of the application is now improved. KMyMoney 4.5 features better documentation, the addition of support for the latest version of AqBanking and integration of the KWallet credentials management application to store online banking passwords. Other changes include automatic consistency checks, that run before data is saved and support for all operating systems supported by KDE. The developers ask users to provide feedback and report any bugs that they encounter to the 'kymymoney4' project.

Users running KDE Platform 3 are advised to use the 1.0.x branch of KMyMoney. KMyMoney is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
