KMyMoney Nearly 18 months since the release of the last stable version, the KMyMoney developers have announced the availability of version 1.0 of their personal finance manager for KDE. KMyMoney, which aims to be "the BEST personal finance manager for FREE users", is based on KDE3 and competes with such similar finance applications as GnuCash, a cross-platform personal and small-business financial-accounting program.

The 1.0 release features a completely revised graphical user interface (GUI), including a new set of icons and an option for expert mode. In addition to several bug fixes, support for more than one PGP encryption key has been added and improvements have been made to scheduled occurrences support, the text filter, charts and DB support and performance. The developers also note that they have already started porting KMyMoney to KDE4 and the first release will be similar to this one.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes and a User Manual is provided. KMyMoney 1.0 is available to download from SourceForge and is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
