KDE e.V. elects new board
During the Annual General Meeting at the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit 2009 (GCDS'09), KDE e.V., the non-profit organisation representing the KDE Project in legal and financial matters, has elected a new board of directors. The new KDE e.V. board president replacing Aaron Seigo will be Cornelius Schumacher. The previous vice president, Adriaan de Groot, was re-elected for another term.
Frank Karlitschek was elected to the board and will take over the role of vice president and treasurer from Schumacher. Karlitchek is well known for his efforts to introduce the Social Desktop to KDE and several community web services, including KDE-Look.org and KDE-Apps.org. Celeste Lyn Paul was also elected to the board as a new board member. Celest Lyn Paul is a member of KDE's Usability team, a contributor to OpenUsability.org and recently won the 2009 Akademy Award for for the greatest non-application contribution to KDE.
