KDE SC 4.4.4 monthly bug fix release

KDE Logo The KDE developers have announced the release of version 4.4.4 of the KDE Software Compilation (KDE SC), the latest monthly bug fix release for the popular Linux desktop. According to the developers, the fourth KDE 4.4 update addresses several bugs and includes a number of translation updates. There are no new features in this release.

KDE SC 4.4.4 provides fixes for file name sorting in the Dolphin file manager and corrects issues with encoded file names in ZIP archives. Other changes include updates for a number of the included games, such as KMines, KNetwalk, LSkat and KSpaceDuel.

More details about the release can be found in the change log and on the KDE 4.4.4 Info Page. Source packages for self-compilation and binary packages for various Linux distributions are available to download from the project's website.

The next point update to KDE 4.4, version 4.4.5, is scheduled to be released on the 29th of June. The next major update, KDE 4.5, is expected in August. KDE is licensed under a combination of the LGPLv2, BSD, MIT and X11 licenses for core libraries and the GPLv2 or GPLv3 for applications.
