KDE Developer Conference: Akademy Awards 2009
The Akademy Awards for 2009 have been announced at the KDE developer conference, taking place during the Gran Canaria Desktop Summit 2009 (GCDS'09), in the Canary Islands, Spain. The award for best application went to Peter Penz for the Dolphin file manager. As he was not at this years Akademy, his award was accepted by Sebastian Trueg on his behalf.
One of KDE's longest serving developers, David Faure, won the award for greatest service to KDE and Celeste Lyn Paul, a member of KDE's Usability team and a contributor to OpenUsability.org, won the award for the greatest non-application contribution to KDE. Another award went to Augustin Benito Bethencour for the organisation of this year's Akademy who said that he accepted the award on behalf of the entire organising team.
As with previous Akademy Awards events, the winners were elected by the winners from the previous year.
