KDE logo Over one hundred bug fixes and translation updates are in the first of the monthly stabilisation updates to KDE 4.10, KDE 4.10.1. The announcement notes bugs fixed in the Kontact PIM and KWin compositing window manager components of the KDE 4.10 desktop environment, which was released a month ago.

The update from 4.10 to 4.10.1 should not pose any major problems as it only has bug fixes and translation updates. Some distributions are likely to update to the new versions. The Fedora Project, for example, will be delivering an update to Fedora 18, which was shipped with KDE 4.9, in the near future.

From now until July, the KDE project will be delivering monthly updates containing mainly bug fixes in minor releases of KDE 4.10. The schedule has the last update, KDE 4.10.5, being shipped on 2 July. At that point, focus will be on KDE 4.11, which according to its draft schedule is due for release in mid-August.
