This year's JavaOne conference will again coincide with Oracle's OpenWorld conference, to be held in San Francisco from the 2 to 6 October. While it was hosted by Sun Microsystems, the Moscone Center was the traditional venue for the world's biggest Java conference, but like last year, it seems Oracle will instead reserve the Center for the OpenWorld conference and exhibits. Visitors to JavaOne and the Oracle Develop developer event will find their presentations and exhibitors at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, as shown in a demo planPDF of the exhibition area.

The JavaOne conference was first held in 1996 and at times attracted around 20,000 visitors. Last year, JavaOne 2010, which was the first such event to be organised by Oracle, OpenWorld and Oracle Develop together attracted almost 40,000 visitors.
