Java EE SDK Update 7 released

Sun Microsystems has released update 7 of the SDK (Software Development Kit) for Enterprise Java application developers. The new version supports the latest version of Java SE 6 (Update 12) and all the technologies offered by the latest Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE 5). The update is available in three packages:

  • Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 SDK Update 7: includes GlassFish Application Server 2.1, Java EE 5 Samples, Java BluePrints, API documentation, Your First Cup (Introduction to Java EE)
  • Java Application Platform SDK Update 7: includes GlassFish 2.1, OpenESB 2, Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 Patch 1, Portlet Container 2.1, Web Services for Remote Portlets 2.0 Beta 2, Java EE 5 Samples, Java BluePrints, API documentation, Your First Cup
  • Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 5 Tools Bundle Update 7: includes GlassFish 2.1, OpenESB 2, Sun Java System Access Manager 7.1 Patch 1, Portlet Container 2.1, Web Services for Remote Portlets 2.0 Beta 2, Java EE 5 Samples, Java BluePrints, API documentation, Your First Cup, NetBeans Portal Pack 3.0 Beta, NetBeans IDE 6.5

The SDK is available free of charge and consists of components developed by both Sun engineers and the open source community. More details on the components can be found in the release notes.
