Jahia Logo The Swiss Jahia Solutions Group has released Jahia Enterprise Edition version 6. The Java software combines a web content management system (WCM) with document management and portal functions based on Apache Pluto, the reference implementation of the Java Portlet specification (JSR-286). The new United Content Bus is designed to provide the easy integration of content from a wide variety of sources. Jahia is also available as Community Edition version 6.

Jahia is cluster-capable (a distributed filing system is a prerequisite) and can be linked to both Active Directory and OpenLDAP. Users can login with a single sign-on (SSO) and rights can be allocated using Access Control Lists (ACLs). Hibernate, the object relational mapping (ORM) tool, makes it possible, in principle, to use all current databases as a back-end. Starting with version 6, Jahia is basing the user interface on the Google web tool kit (GWT). Jahia Enterprise Edition 6, with professional support, is available on a subscription basis. The Community Edition is released under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
