Red Hat, or rather the community around the JBoss middleware, has released a new version of RichFaces, the open source visual component platform. RichFaces is a rich component library for JSF and an advanced framework for easily integrating AJAX capabilities into business application development. The release of version 3.3 includes two new components: a rich-text editor, based on the JavaScript editor TinyMCE and an Ajax Queue, that provides for the sequential processing of Ajax calls.

RichFaces is a component of the tools that Red Hat acquired in 2006 with the purchase of IT service provider Exadel. Red Hat also gained Ajax4jsf - now part of RichFaces - and the development environment Exadel Studio Pro. The latter is now available, renamed as JBoss Developer Studio.
