Introductory ebook for new LPI exam released - Update

German company Linup FrontGerman language link has released a free ebook versionGerman language link of its training handbook for the new Linux Essentials exam from the Linux Professional Institute (LPI). The ebook is available in GermanPDF and EnglishPDF, is roughly 300 pages long and constitutes a solid entry level course on the topics of Linux and open source software.

The new LPI exam makes its debut this week at the LinuxTag conference in Berlin. It covers the general organisation of a modern Linux system, the command line, how the operating system handles scripts and files, the concepts of rights, regular expressions and package management.

Linux Essentials – The LPI Introductory Programme is designed for introductory courses in high schools and colleges but is also well suited for private study.

Update 22-05-12: The ebook is also available as an English and German version for Android devices running version 2.3.3 or later from the Google Play store.
